Series 100
Computerized Multi-Gas Calibrator
DESCRIPTION
The Environics® Series 100 Computerized Multi-Gas Calibrator is a computer
controlled, state-of-the-art instrument for calibration of ambient air analyzers and
monitoring devices. The Series 100 performs precision span checks and multi-point
calibrations of NO, NO2, SO2, CO, O3, CO2, hydrocarbons and other gases of interest.
The instrument meets or exceeds all U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements.
The Series 100 consists of a single chassis supporting two thermal
mass flow controllers, a mixing zone, a reaction chamber for gas phase
titration, an ozone generation module and electronics.
The Series 100's mass flow controllers and ozone generator are factory
calibrated by Environics' traceable ozone and flow standards. The
calibration data, in the form of commanded flow versus actual flow,
is internally stored in the 100's memory to improve instrument accuracy
and linearity.
The Series 100 is available in a standard rack mount configuration or a
portable version for audit use. Optional RS-232 serial data interface
permits remote operation.
PRODUCT FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- User-friendly interactive software with plain language prompts is
simple to use, reducing technician training time and virtually eliminating error.
- Only four key strokes are needed to dilute span gas to low ppb level
eliminating the need for computation of dilutions. Rapid transition from one
dilution to the next saves time.
- Internally-stored mass flow controller calibration data improves accuracy,
eliminates need for correction tables and simplifies recalibration.
- Ozone generator is equipped with a photo-optical feedback circuit
which compensates for lamp decay providing stable and repeatable ozone.
- A five point, internally-stored calibration curve for the ozone generator
insures linear, repeatable ozone generation without photometer control.
Ozone generator meets or exceeds U.S. EPA requirements for ozone transfer standards.
- Full, two-way RS-232 Serial Data Interface (optional) permits remote operation
of the instrument including data collection, gas selection, and initiation of zero,
span and multi-point calibrations.
SOFTWARE
Eleven standard routines and one optional routine are available to the user
Standard Routines
- Blend: In response to software prompting, user selects gas port,
span (cylinder) gas concentration, output gas flow (total) and output gas
concentration. Series 100 automatically delivers concentration at the total flow specified.
- Generate Ozone: Allows user to specify, then generate a precise concentration of ozone.
- Gas Phase Titration: Utilizes Blend and Generate Ozone routines to lead
user through GPT using "excess NO" method.
- Manual: Allows user to manually command a desired rate of flow for each mass flow controller.
- Display: Allows user to monitor flow rates for each mass flow controller separately.
Also provides ozone oven block temperature during Generate Ozone and Gas Phase Titration routines.
- Set Timer: Permits unattended operation of user programmable schedule of
up to 20 different tasks (i.e., zero, span, GPT, multi-point calibration, etc).
- Calibrate: Allows user to recalibrate Series 100's mass flow controllers (20 points of data are required).
- Calibrate Ozone: Allows user to enter five points of calibration data to
linearize output of ozone generator.
- Verify: Permits user verification of each flow controller's output when
a suitable flow standard is connected.
- Slope/Intercept: Allows user to determine actual slope and intercept
values of internally stored mass flow controller calibration data.
- Time/Date: Set by user for complete documentation.
Optional Routines
- Print: Delivers selected information to serial printer with update intervals
determined by user (requires RS-232 option).
