Year 2000 Information

In accordance with the criteria proposed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in "DISC PD-2000-1 A Definition of Year 2000 Conformity Requirements", Environics defines Year 2000 Compliance as follows:

The Year 2000 status of Environics products is set forth below. Environics products that are Year 2000 COMPLIANT are capable of accurately processing date data from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including leap year calculations, without any error relating to date data, when used in accordance with the product documentation supplied by Environics, provided that all other products used with the Environics product exchange accurate data with it. Products that are NON COMPLIANT should be upgraded or replaced as noted.

Even if an Environics product is designated Year 2000 COMPLIANT, date-related problems may arise if the Environics product is used with other products that are not Year 2000 compliant. If data stored in another product are incorrect or are interpreted incorrectly, it may be difficult to identify the source of the bad data.

Environics provides no-cost upgrades for all NONCOMPLIANT products.

NOTES:
1. These products do not permit a year of 00 to be entered, do not correctly advance from 99 to 00, or do not compute the correct day of the week for 2000. This does not affect the normal operation of the instrument. Those users who rely on the programmable scheduling capabilities of these systems may be affected, because the day of the week will be incorrect. To avoid this problem, update the system software to the latest revision. Alternately, the system date can be set to be 28 years earlier than the current date. This will allow the correct day of the week to be calculated.

2. For full Year 2000 compliance, the Microsoft Windows "Short Date" format must be set to a 4-digit year format. This is set under CONTROL PANEL - INTERNATION/REGIONAL SETTINGS - DATE. Refer to your Windows documentation for more information.
