GC Calibration

Gas Chromatography

Calibration System

Environics Gas Mixers, Dilutors and Dividers have been the used in laboratories for over twenty years for applications including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), GC with Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID), and GC with thermal conductivity detector (GC-TCD).

Our systems can produce gas concentrations from percent to ppb levels at the required flow rates for single or multi-point calibration.  In all cases, Environics mixers allow you to use less expensive single-gas cylinders or bulk tanks in place of a high number of expensive blended cylinders.

Our Zero Air Generators (ZAG) provide a continuous supply of dry, contaminant-free air at up to 20 standard liters per minute (SLPM) and 30 PSI. We offer two configurations: a powerful stand-alone unit that eliminates the need for an external compressed air source, and a pump-less version for use with an existing dry compressed air supply.

These generators are ideal for producing zero reference calibration gas, ultra-pure combustion air for flame ionization detectors, service air for pneumatic valves, hydrocarbon-free air for chromatography, and general laboratory use. While many labs rely on high-pressure Zero Air cylinders, an in-house generator is a safer, more cost-effective, and more consistent solution—quickly paying for itself .

Flexibility:  Our systems precisely mix/dilute high concentration gas cylinders to an infinitely variable range of concentrations from high percents to low parts per million.  Never find yourself stuck without the exact blend you need.

Tailored Solutions Designed for Accuracy, Dependability, and Performance.

Cost Savings:  Reduce your gas consumption and cylinder rental expenses by up to 60%. The Series 4040 typically pays for itself in just 12 to 18 months, depending on gas usage.

Accuracy: Our systems utilize precise thermal mass flow controllers enhanced by Environics’ proprietary control technology, delivering up to 10 times greater accuracy compared to standard configurations. For detailed performance data, see our  Full-scale error vs. Setpoint error study.

Repeatability:  With a repeatability of ±0.05% of full scale, our systems ensure consistent, reliable results calibration after calibration.

Traceability:  Each system’s mass flow controllers are factory-calibrated using a computer-controlled primary flow standard traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), ensuring confidence in every measurement.

Audit Trail:  Automated calibration capabilities simplify record-keeping and ensure a complete and easily maintained audit trail.

Oxygen Clean:  We offer systems cleaned for oxygen service, and highly recommend cleaning of all components for systems that will be subjected to oxygen levels above 25%.
